HDD show in Device Manager and property is Device working Properly. Instant recognition, and my 100G of data was still there and safe. The hard drive itself...the power supply for the drive...the connections for the drive/the enclosure...and a problem with either of those things causes a loss of functionality. I travel frequently and i don't take the drive with me, consequently i have to unplug it and plug it from the laptop frequently, i hadn't had any trouble...until yesterday when The transfer speed seemed slow so I bought an express card adapter with 2 usb 3.0 ports and installed the associated software, "renesas electronics usb 3.0 host controller driver"; since then After a few seconds both hard drives were recognized.
