As others have said in this thread there is no need to get any unit that powerful, hell i don't even need 850 for my current rig. So, how do you guys think I should persuade my dad to let me build the machine? I had pre-ordered the pc version and the ps3 version (note the pc version was $35 on gmg).

So, maybe telling your parents that some huge nerd on the internet says I did a good job picking parts will convince them. No chance that'd work in my household. believe me i dont think you're going to convince your dad. However, she also has a computer science degree and is interested in technology in general, so she was willing to help me look into it.
Now my I brought this up to my parents and my mother really doesn't like the idea.
