Audigy 2 Issues (I Think?)
One day I just decided to disable the sound card and miraculously the game stopped freezing. Drivers between different model cards (same series or not) are often not interchangeable. The Audigy 2 can be a resource hog, grabbing the attention of the PCI bus bandwidth entirely if given a chance. What mod do you guys run? Great group of guys play there.
It seems to work well. That sucks. I don't know the motherboard off the top of my head, but the computer is a Dell XPS Gen 2. All rights reserved.
System Model: Dimension 4700 BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05 Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1022MB RAM Page File: 1058MB used, 632MB available Windows Dir: all i can say is: creative you need to get your s**t together, you have as many issues with your sound blaster cards as microsoft has with windows. You can tell that it's an issue with this sound card because as soon as the sound card is disabled the UI functions normally. website here It seems to work well.
From comparing the two IMD graphics, and the fact that the card passes udial, I am quite sure there are no resampling issues (either it doesn't or it does very well). You I used that auto update so I would have thought that it would have given me all the drivers. I am trying to figure out what this means. i was hoping this workaround would do the job but no luck at all.
Any help would be appreciated.A while ago, I was listening to music, when there was some really loud distortion. Moving the sound chips off of the very noisy (electrically speaking) motherboard is a good idea if quality sound is desired. no problems for 10 mins... I have tweaked my PCI buffers to 32 (from 64) in my bios.
I haven't seen the problem at all today. http://quodsoftware.com/audigy-2/audigy-2-zs-having-a-problem.html I really think its a PCI-bus/cpu usage issue...but it happens so rarely it hasn't even warranted further investigation (my excuse for laziness). ...nothing's perfect (except my lady, of course). And Audigy 2 has no resampling issues either, so it _certainly_ makes sense to use different settings. Man...
Destructor: Well, your sound card is an old one (by Creative's standardards). This is a really stupid bug to have and I hope Creative fixes it.27th April 2011 @ 08:54 Comment from: MIke [Visitor]5 starsthank you13th June 2011 @ 22:26 Comment from: Evoeater I haven't researched what DAC (digital to audio converter) chip the Realtek ALC 1200 uses, but I'd bet it's not very good. check over here hope it works Thanks for the link, even though I'd looked for a driver under that exact model I only got a Platinum ZS driver that looked different from Creative.
and which cant be a pb issue.but anyway, just check the console ingame and see whats going on when the sound-errors start... With very very few exceptions, almost all manufacturers of motherboards will use the least expensive chipset they can get away with. You'll want to click on the Boot tab, then click on Advanced, and set the maximum memory to a number under 4096.
This will launch the System Configuration tool.
Of course, you can have both (I have an M-Audio Revolution as well )...Won't fit in my laptop For an USB card I am very statisfied. pandaking11-12-2005, 08:21 PMAfter googling my butt off, I have discovered that the front panel uses an AD_EXT cable, and after lots of thinking there is a very very very slim chance Assuming that Creative even makes an Audigy 2 ZS driver for Win7 (I haven't checked), then you should be able to find it by searching for the card model #, which I'd love to hear other suggestions or if someone has a link to an older patch that i could use instead of the newest one that would be great.Incidentally I also
I restarted the computer and all was fine.I had that happen one more time, and now when I play wolfentein enemy territory, my sound hangs up when I enter a server, That seems like it will be a huge performace hit. It was a specific tempo, and never changed. this content you also said you had sound-probs while surfing the net.. / not in games ...
Now that I have actually been giving it some thought, I'm almost betting that the answer would be yes, the onboard IS better than the Ol' Audigy 2? Any help would be appreciated.A while ago, I was listening to music, when there was some really loud distortion.
