Asus A7N8X Deluxe + WinXP + SATA Problems
I have just upgraded from an Asus A7A266 based rig running a 1.33GHZ Athlon though, also with a 300W power supply, which I had absolutely no problems with. I do believe it is being reconized now. I believe BIOS needs to be updated as my PC has no problem detecting & fully booting up with the current 500GB SATA HDD. If you enter the SATARaid Utility you are told a drive is missing and if you wait for the RAID setup screen to pass and then try to install Windows you navigate here

I have the same board & it stops at the same boot sequence as yours when I connect a second SATA harddrive of 2 TB size. CD player and video fail. IDE is outdated and you may not be able to move it to your next motherboard.
I cam currently running a WB 80gb 7200 drive, but this one is 16mb ATX100. I don't know which one is Primary sata port and Secondary/slave port. WIll not boot from Floppy (yes I have one) or my CD..IE trying to load XP-Pro onto SATA drive. then the system stops.
Press f6 when promted u v 2 b fast. Your post ONLY says "with XP, 2 HDDs and that it recognizes only C". Both options just made the installer throw up the error message:File si3112r.sys caused an unexpected error at line 2113 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c Press any key to continue.Any idea what has gone wrong More Help I think the key is to make sure you connect it to Channel 1 and run the SATARaid setup utility. How do I make it work?Just noticed, it sees them all (no matter how many are plugged in/out) in post. IF I add the 2nd drive to my SATA headers the system freezes prior to reaching raid. Unfortunately on the ide drive were lots music and video files about 85gb worth so it took about half an hour or so. Is this something I need to update the bios to enable or is there a way to only update the SATA driver on the mobo?
I also using bios revision 1001G and am using all the latest drivers (including the NForce 2.0 unified driver package). Is there anything special I must do to have a SATA II run on my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe. My MB will see the .5TB when getting the RAID screen but not as a storage drive. Let me know what you think. but if you buy one SATA you only need to buy a second SATA and put it on RAID to have performance close to SCSI systems (scsci is so fast and SATA power disconnected but data attached.
Yet if only the sata one is plugged in it will boot to windows. Kaby lake and Sandy bridge comparison. It works in windows and I have managed to read and write other floppy disks without any problems. I do a lot of video editing and simply run out of HardDrice-pace.
