Dismiss Notice TechSpot Forums Forums TechSpot Core CPUs and Motherboards Today's Posts asus a7n8x - 3com lanproblem- Bycoba1 Mar 27, 2004 Hi, I have asus a7n8x deluxe. The thought by pericon that the computer might be seeing the NIC incorrectly as a IEEE1394 device is probably not valid. Paul. At the moment, I am using a 20-pin power connector intead of the preferred 24-pin. http://quodsoftware.com/asus-a7n8x/asus-a7n8x-del-ide-problem.html
Already have an account? that is what got me wonderin if this ever happened to ne one else b4 ?? Oct 10, 2004 #3 JoVankaam TS Rookie Hi, have a look at my post in Gigabit Lan on Asus A7N8X-E not registering May be this could help you :stickout: Oct don't have a need for the second NIC at this time. http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/asus-a7n8x-3com-lan-problem.12004/
I refer to the later MOBO version with the Marvel NIC and not an earlier version that used a 3-Com NIC. OK, so they got away with it in most cases! I would be either copying files over my network or just on the net and I would get a BSOD that referred back to the 3com NIC's drivers.
nothing happened to them... Any ideas on what is wrong? The intention was to use the dual LAN capability of the ASUS MOBO to share the Internet connection between my 2 PCs. I have the same NIC on a P4P800 Dlx but have no clue about your original problem nor time to go through all the posts here to find it.

Mar 27, 2004 #5 coba1 TS Rookie Topic Starter Mine is asus a7n8x deluxe. Mar 28, 2004 #9 JohnDus TS Rookie Ok, just ran across this thread, you probably already figured out how to install the drivers, but just in case you didn't here is Right click on the on it and tell it to "update driver". Finally, when I look at Device Manager, there is nothing in the Network adapters except the NVIDIA NForce MCP Networking Controller and the 1394 adapter!
They use XP pro so I assumed tha Add/Remove HW exists. What it boils down to is to use regedit and remove the yukonx86 key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services Then reboot the system. After you unzip the drivers from Asus's site open up your device manger and find the card that has the yellow exlamation point that says pci communication device. Posts: 4,274 When I've seen that kind of problem it was more of a software problem on the OS side of things rather then a hardware problem.
I need to use my 3 com lan. this content Ask a Question See Latest Posts TechSpot Forums are dedicated to computer enthusiasts and power users. I just went ahead and disabled that NIC in the BIOS and it worked okay at that point (until the mobo decided to poop-out on me, that is). Join thousands of tech enthusiasts and participate.

Join the community here. My opinion on Ironbasher's problem, it's a bad NIC, RMA the board. My best guess is that it is a resource conflict. can anyone help me with this ?

The drivers that you download are not executables, so you will have to update them this way. I only copied the text from that forum where I found the info. May 30, 2004 #2 Ironbasher TS Rookie Topic Starter Curiously, the BIOS has no mention of the Marvel Gigabit port although the Ethernet LAN and 1394 supported by the onboard nVIDIA I am also sure it was the right jumper!!!
