Would you think that my current rig as is would be a good hand me down to my youngest? If you don't mine me asking...do you use it mainly for playback or do you rip/stream as well? the video card is showing it's age. If you continue to piecemeal upgrade, you will always be hampered by the slowest, weakest oldest component in your rig.

For CPU upgrade, you want very cheap CPU and switch it to cheap and much more powerful one. the video card is showing it's age.
