i managed it anyhow. So I can't reinstall windows XP. The problem might be the utility Acer used to create the partitions, how they were accessed at the time, and/or the BIOS in conjunction with the physical specifications. If there is no AHCI disk operating mode setting to disable in the BIOS, then an AHCI driver will have to be offered via pressing F6 during the install of WinXP. When you do a clean install it tell you that every thing on the disk will be removed and that means even the things that are hidden + every body knows And almost better.No Its a downgrade to crapness...Vista is much better so long as you know how to optimize it and have the right harware...Vista on 500 TB + 1 TB I know you haven't done this, so now is a good time to do so.
